WHERE”S YOUR CONSCIENCE?

Saturday, March 31st, 2007

To the Ministers of this "First World Governtment", i would like you to go back and search your souls! Where is your conscience? Are you in politics purely because you have the interest of the people in your heart or are you in it because of your greediness and selfishness in wanting to enrich yourselves? You shamelessly ask for your pay to be increase when there are still a lot of Singaporeans out there who are suffering, who are in need… What have you done to help them? You dont deserve the obscene salary you are receiving right now what more, asking it to be increase! Shame on you, MINISTERS! You dont deserve the respect of the people! Ask your conscience, follow your heart… You should help the poor and needy to get a better life, get rid of their poverty… This is your duty, this is your job. i quote," Ask What You Can Do For Your Country, And Not What Your Country Can Do For You"! Go back, ask your conscience and search your souls…

It seems like only yesterday we’ve known each other but sadly, the truth is that it has already been six months… How time flies. Within this short period of time, we’ve grown to become very close friend. You’ve been a great brother, a great friend and a great buddy…. I would like to thank you for this great friendship we’ve built. Once you fly back to your belove homeland, i hope that you’ll not forget your friends here in Singapore…

Dear brother, i’m certainly gonna miss your companionship… I’ll certainly treasure all the great moment and times we had together especially when we go for movie marathon or spending time by watching midnight movies after work etc.. Now, i’ll be left with no one once you’re gone…

Dear brother, i hope you have a safe trip back to the Phillippines. Do keep in touch always and i wish you all the best in your future endeavour and in your coming graduation ceremony this coming 14th April. Hope we’ll be able to meet up again one day…

the RICH Getting RICHER, The POOR getting POORER!

Saturday, March 3rd, 2007

Well, the news we’ve been waiting for so long ever since they announce the increase of the President already big, fat and bloated paycheck is already out! Our "First World Government" Ministers can expect an increase to their already bloated paychecks too!

2007 is a year of increases. The increase of the President’s pay, the increase of the Ministers pay and not forgetting especially for the common people, the increase of GST to 7%! Well done to our "First World Governtment" for your thoughtfullness.. For the President and the Ministers, the increase will help them enrich themselves further but how about us, the common people? Have we seen any increases to our salaries? What we see is only the increase of hardships!

For goodness sake, there are still beggars and homeless people around! If those at the ivory tower seems not to realise it or pretended not to know, a lot of the common people are still having financial difficulties and hardships! Shouldn’t they be helping this people rather than having a good life by enriching themselves? Is this a case of the rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer?

And by the way, correct me if i’m wrong, our President and Ministers pay is already the highest in the world. And someone told me before that if you combine both George Bush’s pay and Tony Blair’s pay together, it can’t even compete with that of our President! If this is true, then its simply outrageous!

Honestly and frankly speaking, in my most humble opinion, when a person enters politics,  when he/she becomes an MP or a Minister, his/her main priority is towards helping and serving the needs of the people, and not of themselves. They should be working for the people. They are the servants of the people! But what is happening now is completely opposite! We are the ones who have to work hard for them so that they would get a bigger and fatter and a more bloated paychecks while we the common people, did not even have enough to provide for our own family! Is this right? where is their conscience? Fattening their paychecks while there are still the poor and needy around?

Enough is enough! Singaporeans, its time that we voice out to them! Keeping quiet and staying silent won’t help you. We are suffering, they are enriching themselves! The rich are getting richer, the poor are getting poorer! Its time we fight for our rights! Power To The People!
