Where Is Mas Selamat?

March 1st, 2008 by salemboy81

Well, it has been a few days since the escape of Singapore’s most dangerous man, the terrorist who plan to crash into Changi Airport, Mas Selamat, from the ISD detention camp. Till today, there are still no news about his whereabouts, and i believe that the authorities are clueless too. Could he still be hiding somewhere out there or could he have manage to get out of Singapore? Well nobody really knows, not even our ever "vigilant" governtment.

Well, when the first time i heard about the escape, a lot of questions came into my mind. Well, he’s a terrorist and a dangerous guy, so where are the security? Where are the guards or Gurkhas who’s suppose to guard him? How could he have escape from the detention camp? Is the security in the camp too lax? WHAT HAPPEN?

How could Mas Selamat know about the layout of the detention camp when the movement of the detainees in the camp are restricted? Could it have been an insider job? Or could his family been providing him with information about the layout when they came to visit him? This terrorist walks with a limp, so how could he have manage to escape fast enough? Where are the guards/Gurkhas on duty? All this are just mere speculations but  i strongly believe that we need to know about what happen.

The security of Singaporeans, and the nation as a whole is at stake. We doesn’t know about what he is up to. Could he be planning something to cause panic and chaos to our belove nation?

Well, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs, Mr Wong Kan seng has said sorry in Parliament regarding the escape of Mas Selamat. He also added that internal investigation is being carried out to find out how it happen, and how come it can happen. Well, its good that he apologise, but frankly speaking, in my own personal opinion, anyone can just say sorry. As simple as reciting ABC, as simple as that!

Mr Wong Kan Seng has failed in his duty as the Minister of Home Affairs to safeguard the Security of Singaporeans and Singapore as a whole. It may sound too harsh, but i strongly believe that once Mas Selamat is caught, investigations and inquiries done and once the whole saga is over, he should graciously steps down from his post.

He knows that he have failed the people, he have failed the nation so he should be responsible about it and step down from his post> It sounds harsh, but this is the reality and he should know it and he should face it.

I hope that Mas Selamat will be caught and hang to death for treason against this belove  and peaceful nation. I hope that the governtment won’t hide anything from the people as the people deserve to know the truth, nothing, but the truth. There shouldn’t be any cover up by the governtment to cover their mistake.

For Mr Wong Kan Seng, once again i would urge him to step down from his post once the saga is over. Be brave and face it like a man. You know you have failed, so you should take the responsibility. We can’t afford to have people like you as the Minister of Home Affairs.

CONGRATS SINGAPORE!!!

February 21st, 2008 by salemboy81

I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Singapore on its successful bid in winning the hosting rights to the Youth Olympic Game 2010 (YOG 2010).

As a Singaporean, of course i’m very happy with the outcome. We should thank one and all who have work hard to make this dream come true for this tiny island and of course, not forgetting each and every Singaporean who have played their part in securing this winning. Thanks to all…

Celebrations over, now is time to prepare and work hard again for the big day, two and a half year down the road. Make it a successful one, which will last an everlasting impact to all the competitiors taking part from the world over… Show them our strength, our unity, our determination in making this event a successful and memorable one. Show them the spirit of SINGAPURA, even though we are just a tiny red dot, we are just as hot as the CILI PADI!!!

February 19th, 2008 by salemboy81

Currently i’m down again but this time with a much "greater effect" which unofficially starts from the 15th of feb, and till today, i have yet to recover! I’ve been to different docs but of no use.Different kind of medication had been given and tried but is of no use….

i dont know what’s happening to me… Everynight i shivers under layers of clothings and blankets and my body is feeling damn hot! My whole body is aching, am feeling nausea and giddiness, the sense of floating around…. just yesterday i was like puking and puking… sigh…. My body is just getting weaker and weaker as the days goes by… sigh… am getting helpless!!!

Sickly Salem…

January 13th, 2008 by salemboy81

I’ve not been feeling well for the past few days. My body has been aching all over and my temperature has gone haywire like a yo-yo, going up and down continuosly and when i finally visit the doc, he comfirm that i’m having a viral fever, something which i already suspected of…but a mild one that is. Coz i remember that when i first had the fever all the way back in 2001, i was hospitalised for 5 days at TTSH. The symptom was similar… my body aching all over, my head felt giddy and back in 2001, i even fell unconscious in school!

Well the doc said if i’m still having fever by the third day,i should come back and go for a blood test. I think i should as i also experience pain in the chest area… Well, i do not want to think too much about it as i prefer to take one day at a time. What ever happens, happens… You can’t run or hide away from it… Just stay and be positive…. hmm…

FAREWELL, BENAZIR BHUTTO

December 28th, 2007 by salemboy81

When the news came in that the former Prime Minister of Pakistan, Benazir Bhutto, was assasinated after her political rally, i was really dumbfounded and in deep shock.i was like thinking, is this another cruel joke?

And when the truth and reality sets in… i was left speechless… No words can describe my emotion that time… My heart just felt so heavy… Sadness overcome me…i was in a state of denial asking whether it was for real, maybe its just a bad dream after all, but in the end….

But whatever happens after this,  i just hope that justice will prevail. I believe that no one is above the law and those responsible for planning her assasination and in cahoot will be caught and punish.

Pakistan has lost a great daughter, a great leader,  a great mother, a great wife, not only to her family but to her belove country as well. I sincerely share the grief of the Pakistani people, and hope that her fight for democracy will continue and prevail in Pakistan.

To the Pakistani people, my deepest condolence to you.  Insyaalah, her fight for justice and democracy for her belove Pakistan will continue on and will not be a wasted one….

May her soul rest in peace. Amin.

HAPPY 50th ANNIVERSARY, WP!

November 3rd, 2007 by salemboy81

3rd November 2007, The Workers’ Party celebrate its 50th Anniversary. Personally speaking, it has been quite an achievement for a local opposition party to exist for so long under the current Singapore political climate.

Even though many people out there have criticise the party for being slow on acting on current issues and stuffs, and being a wayang party or the puppet of the PAP governtment, jolly well i say, that is their own views. I rather not entertain all this arm chair critics, they only know how to comment and criticise, but when come to the real action, where are they? They are just like NATO- No Action Talk Only.

Frankly speaking, the party is lacking in resources, in terms of financial, human resources etc. If one is to  believe that WP should do more and act fast, then why not come forward to volunteer your service to the party, or contribute in whatever ways you can? Every help we get is truely appreciated. I believe that we can work together for a better Singapore, can we?

Mr Low Thia khiang has already thrown out the challenge to all the critics out there. During the 50th Anniversary dinner, he have said, "For those who feel that WP is not up to the mark, how about coming forward to do some public service? I challenge the critics of WP to join the Workers’ Party to make it better." Well to all the critics out there, are you going to take this challenge up? Do you have the balls to come forward and serve? Or you prefer to be NATO? The ball is now in your court…

Last but not least, i just want to tell one and all that,                     I’M ABDUL SALIM HARUN. AND I’M PROUD TO BE A MEMBER OF THE WORKERS’ PARTY. HAPPY 50TH ANNIVERSARY TO THE WORKERS’ PARTY!

3rd WORLD MENTALITY OF SINGAPORE POLICE FORCE

September 30th, 2007 by salemboy81

On Sunday, 30th September 2007, i spent my whole day at the Myanmar Embassy to sign the petition against the brutalities of the autocratic military regime and also to be together with my fellow Singaporean compatriots and our fellow brothers and sisters from Myanmar for the candle light vigil later on that night.

The response was truly overwhelming. I’m truly heartened and touch by it. People just kept streaming in all day long.  But for one thing, the actions of the Singapore Police Force (SPF), which i truly considers SPF as being a world class organisation but with a 3rd WORLD MENTALITY!

I was truly disgusted with their action when they tried to stop people, and i need to define who this people are:- people like you and me, Asian, who do not drive big fancy cars, who is not an elite, who is not an Ang Moh, from coming in to sign the petition and be together with fellow concerned citizens who wish to protest and condemn the brutalities of the military regime in Myanmar. We were stop and harass by the police, and many concerned citizens and Myanmar nationals were stop and prevented from coming in. I was there to witness the whole incident, the police harassment, the police oppression of the people! in one incident, i witness how 3 innocent Myanmar nationals were being harass by 5 to 6 poodles ( the Police) and have their particulars being taken down! This is really an intimidation and are’t Singapore suppose to be a DEMOCRATIC country? Isn’t this is what is said in our national pledge, "… TO BUILD A DEMOCRATIC SOCIETY, BASE ON JUSTICE & EQUALITY…"?

But sadly, this is not suppose to be. As the days went by, more and more people are prevented from coming in and me and my fellow compatriots decided to intervene with the poodles oppression and harassment of the people. There is no law which prevents people from walking freely down the streets and the poodles have no rights to intimidate and take down their particulars!  They are behaving as if they are part of the military junta in Myanmar! They are behaving like hooligans!

What shock me further is when there’s an ang moh couple who walk in, they are not being stop and harass! The poodles did not stop them at all! Or when there’s an ang moh  as a passanger in a cab or an ang moh driving their own car, they are not being stop at all! But why are locals and the Myanmar nationals being stop? Why the double standard in the enforcement?

Is it because our poodles still think that the ang moh is more powerful and superior so they cant be touch? Or is the ang moh is the poodles master? If that is the case, i would suggest to the poodles that they go to the European/Western countries and become their slaves, their servants, their maids and gardeners! Why is our  poodles still having this kind of mentality. Singapore is an independent country but our poodles are not, as they are still the slaves of the ang moh!

I’m truly saddened by this. I’m ashamed of being a Singaporean. I’m ashame of the poodles. I’m ashame of this governtment. What is the role of the poodles? Are they suppose to be protecting the people or are they suppose to be oppressing the people? Think about it. I have no more faith in our system…

BE STRONG, MY MYANNMAR BROTHERS & SISTERS…

September 28th, 2007 by salemboy81

As everyone would have known by now, Myannmar is now in a chaotic situation. The autocratic military regime has start beating, shooting and killing innocent monks and members of the public! What have they done to get this treatment?

When they have only march for DEMOCRACY, when they have march against the high cost of living especially the rise in fuel hike etc, and this protesters, have done so in such a peaceful manner. What have they done to be treated in such a cruel manner? And why is none of the ASEAN countries intervening? Innocent people are being killed, religious leaders are being killed! Why is Singapore, as the current Chair of the ASEAN grouping not doing anything to stop this cruelty? Is the Singapore governtment in cahoot with their counterparts in Myannmar? Is the ASEAN grouping to weak to react to such cruelties or are they too, in cahoot in some way or others with the autocratic military regime?

Why does it take the European Union (EU) to be the first to respond when we in ASEAN, as the closest neighbour to Myannmar should be the first one to take pro-active measure against Myannmar? Dont we care at all for the Burmese people? Dont we have any feelings at all?

To my fellow brothers and sisters in Myannmar, i say, brave on. Do not be intimidated by the autocratic military regime. Stand united as one people and DEMOCRACY will prevail. The military regime will be toppled, and a new democratic governtment will replace it. Have faith in yourself, with people’s power, the regime will be toppled. You have my most sincere prayer and support. YOU HAVE INSPIRED ME!

Study Time!

July 24th, 2007 by salemboy81

First day back to class… and it was all very stressful! After about 5 years not touching books, not studying, here i am again, back to class, taking my part time Diploma study  in Retail Management. My part time study will take me almost one and a half years to complete and i really really hope that time will fly very fast! hahaha…. I dont know how well i can go through, considering that i’ve got to rush back to work immediately after my classes. Of course, my life will be much more hectic, and i’ll have got less time for my social and personal activities… Whatever energy i have, most of it will be suck out! But what to do, this is life in Singapore. If you dont have any cert, you wont go that far and it’ll be hard for you to suvive living in this uncaring country. But no matter what… i’m not going to let anything fails me. I’m very determine to push thro’ whatever obstacles i’ll be facing and i’ll make sure that at the end of the day, i’ll taste victory… a sweet victory for me!
